Privacy Policy for Auto Refresh Timer
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Auto Refresh Timer is a Chrome extension that lets users create independent auto-refresh timers for browser tabs.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension handles, how it is used, and how it is protected.
1. Information We Handle
Auto Refresh Timer may access or store the following information only to provide its core refresh-timer functionality:
- Current tab information, such as tab ID, page title, favicon, and domain.
- Refresh task settings, such as refresh interval, task status, next refresh time, and selected language.
- Extension preferences, such as the manually selected interface language.
The extension does not collect names, email addresses, payment information, passwords, personal messages, form contents, or account credentials.
2. How We Use Information
The information handled by Auto Refresh Timer is used only to:
- Create and manage auto-refresh timers for browser tabs.
- Display the current tab and task list inside the extension popup.
- Show a countdown reminder on supported web pages.
- Pause, resume, stop, or update refresh tasks.
- Remember the selected interface language.
- Keep refresh timers working during the current browser session.
3. Local Storage and Data Retention
Auto Refresh Timer stores task and preference data locally in Chrome storage.
Refresh tasks are designed for the current browser session. Closing a tab or stopping a task removes the related refresh task. Language preference may remain stored locally so the extension can reopen in the selected language.
We do not operate a remote server for this extension, and we do not upload extension data to our servers.
4. Data Sharing
Auto Refresh Timer does not sell, rent, transfer, or share user data with third parties.
The extension does not share user data with advertising networks, analytics providers, data brokers, or other external services.
5. Remote Transmission
Auto Refresh Timer does not transmit browsing activity, tab information, refresh tasks, or extension preferences to any external server.
All refresh scheduling and task management are handled locally in the browser.
6. Permissions
Auto Refresh Timer requests only the permissions needed for its single purpose: refreshing browser tabs on a user-defined timer.
The extension may use these Chrome permissions:
- tabs: to identify the active tab and manage refresh tasks for tabs.
- storage: to save refresh tasks and language preference locally.
- scripting: to show the countdown reminder on supported pages.
- activeTab: to work with the tab the user is currently using.
- alarms: to schedule refreshes for longer intervals.
These permissions are used only for the extension’s auto-refresh timer features.
7. Web Browsing Activity
Auto Refresh Timer may read limited tab information, such as the active tab’s title, domain, and tab ID, only when needed to create and display refresh tasks.
The extension does not collect, track, analyze, or build profiles from browsing history or browsing activity.
8. Advertising and Analytics
Auto Refresh Timer does not include advertising, tracking, analytics, affiliate links, or personalized advertising.
9. Security
Because Auto Refresh Timer does not transmit user data to external servers, user data remains local to the browser environment. Local extension data is handled through Chrome’s extension storage APIs.
10. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the extension’s functionality or data practices change. Any material change to data handling will be reflected in this policy.
